Abomination (ヘカトンケイル, Hekatonkeiru) is a boss in Suikoden II.
Background[]
When Riou, Viktor, and Kahn invaded North Window Castle to kill Neclord, the vampire originally tempted Viktor with the idea of resurrecting his lost love, Daisy, and giving her to Viktor. However, Viktor saw right through the ruse, as anyone brought back from the dead would begin to attack those among the living. Neclord's back-up plan involved summoning the Abomination to kill them. With the party kept busy by the Abomination, Neclord freely escaped the scene and wouldn't be encountered again until he showed up in the Tinto region.
The Abomination appears as a gargantuan, horrifying black creature possessing five heads and four large hand-like appendages stemming from long arms that extend out of the body. It moves about as if it were a large arachnid, and has shown surprising physical ability in being able to jump extremely high, despite its size and weight. It can also briefly stand on the back two of its hands, while using its front hands to slash at its target. It is also capable of using a wave of phantoms to attack the party. Finally, it can produce some sort of blue breath-weapon, either dark fire, or a kind of ethereal energy, and release it in a large cloud.

Strategy[]
Notably, Kahn's Resurrection Rune spells, combined with Viktor's use of the Celestial Sword, can prove to be an invaluable tool in helping the group put this monster down for good. Viktor should be equipped with either a Double Beat Rune or a Fury Rune to improve his damage. Outside of this, the Bright Shield Rune's Shining Light spell, as well as excellent Fire Rune users, can quickly bring the Abomination into submission.
Trivia[]
- No reference is made to this monster after the party defeats it, as well as the mysterious room with the pipe-organ and stained-glass window... the room disappears from the castle entirely. Perhaps the whole area was created out of Neclord's magic?
- The original Japanese name, "Hecatoncheir", is a reference to the 3 "Hecatoncheires" or "Hundred-handed ones" that helped Zeus and the Greek gods overthrow the Titans in Greek mythology.
