Belle travels through the Grassland alongside Gadget Z. Belle is the daughter of Meg and, like her mother, is exploring the world. Unlike Meg, however, who searched for her uncle Juppo and adventure, Belle is off looking for her mother, who left her as a young girl with Gadget Z. Like her mother before her, Belle is a master of gadgetry and makes dozens of gadgets; however, none of these gadgets seem to work quite right. Through her travels with Gadget Z, she became an expert at repairing him.

Belle joined the Fire Bringer thanks, in part, to Gadget Z, when someone brought her the kind of screw she needed to fix the broken-down gizmo. She fit in well with the other members of the Fire Bringer, even acquiring a crush on Hugo. Belle loved the scenery at Budehuc Castle, commenting that when she is reading poems by Budehuc Lake, she felt as if there was no war going on. She also found an alpine meadow she greatly enjoyed, asking Hugo if he would go with her the next time she comes there.
Belle also made several requests to improve things at Budehuc even further for herself, such as for money to fix Gadget Z or for cutlet bowls to be served at Mamie's restaurant. Belle also became fast friends with Viki and Mel, which led the detective Kidd to quip that they were beautiful, but only when they were silent and that they looked quite dangerous to him.
Her crush on Hugo continued to grow during the war, as she began dreaming about him, wishing to go to a party with him, and even becoming jealous when Aila talked to him, but she was unable to tell Hugo of her feelings. She even attempted to knit Hugo a sweater with her own hands, but an unfortunate explosion by Gadget Z ruined the sweater she was knitting.
After the war ended, she set off once more on a journey with Gadget Z in order to become a great Gadget Master.
Role in the Game[]
Belle and Gadget Z can be recruited by finding Gadget Z's missing screw on Plain Amur. It's always in the possession of a monster. Once found, simply talk to her again and tell her about Budehuc Castle.
Note: It's best to recruit Belle with Thomas, as she is one of the characters that can help defend his castle. Also, if Hugo recruits her, there's a bonus level increase for Belle alone.
