The Blinking Mirror (またたきの手鏡 or 瞬きの手鏡; Matataki no Tekagami), also known as Glowing Hand Mirror is a recurring key item in the Suikoden series.
Description[]
It is a small mirror that allows the player's party to teleport back to the Headquarters. It is connected to a similar mirror (but larger) found in the headquarters.
The item is generally obtained upon recruiting Viki, which will automatically establish and guard the mirror in the Headquarters. The item can generally only be used on the world map, except in Suikoden IV where it can be used anywhere.
Trivia[]
- In Suikoden, the Blinking Mirror can be thrown away.
- Suikoden I is the only game where the mirror is not directly handed over by Viki, but instead found in the chest upon recruiting Hellion (which also is the one who guard the large mirror in the HQ).
- In Suikoden IV, the Blinking Mirror is translated as the "Glowing Hand Mirror".
- The Japanese name for this item is 瞬きの手鏡. 瞬き means blinking or twinkling (like of the stars) or flickering. 手鏡 means hand mirror. The mirror that is places in the HQ is called 大鏡 (literally Large Mirror) in the Kiwami Daijiten.
