Story

Suikoden II
Edit
During the Dunan Unification War, after defeating Harpy and saving Kent, Futch with Humphrey Mintz and Riou found a dragon egg. It is rare to see a dragon egg outside the domain of the Dragon Knights, but it is rarer to see a white dragon. Humphrey suggests killing the baby dragon, for if it grows untamed, it will go on a rampage and destroy towns and villages. However, Futch decided to take care of the baby dragon and named him Bright.
Unsure if Bright is a dragon or not, Futch along with Humphrey and Bright went to the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia to learn more about Bright.
Suikoden III
Edit
During the Second Fire Bringer War, Futch along with Bright and Sharon joined the Fire Bringer. From the Suggestion Letters, Bright quickly fit in at the castle, befriending and competing with Fubar, working with Barts to cultivate the land, and enjoying the food there. However, though he likes people, he does not like being touched by kids, and he breathed fire once when Guillaume attempted to steal some his scales off of him.
After the war, Bright stayed with Futch. He loves flying around in space with Futch, but Futch is bothered by his constant pestering.

Role in the Game
Edit
Speak to Futch on the mountain path to Caleria. Agree to help him find Sharon. Chase Sharon around Caleria, and he will join along with Bright.
Being an animal, Bright cannot equip any armor or accessories. However, he can have healing items.
Bright only has 3 open skill slots with no fixed skill slots. Although he has decent affinity for Fire Magic and Wind Magic, it is best to focus on teaching and increasing his Damage skill to capitalize on his Spreading Flame Rune, Accuracy to hit enemies more often when not using his rune, and either Armor Protect or Magic Resistance to give him increased resilience to attacks.
It is not recommended to have Bright on his own in your party. He is at his best when paired with Futch in a Mounted Attack, making for a powerful combination in combat. He can be paired with Gadget Z to use their flashy Unite Attack, but unless the player is using an infinite health cheat, this attack is dangerous and may prove fatal to one's party should the player use it recklessly.

The kids at the castle show interest in Bright and touch him, but he doesn't like it. Isn't there anything we can do? Sincerely, Futch
Lately, he has been helping Barts. He was glad, because he got baked potatoes when he burnt the grass after mowing. Sincerely, Futch
Recently, he tried to see who could jump further with Fubar. He was happy because he won. He said Fubar was fast. Yours, Futch
At night, Guillaume tried to steal Bright's scales, so he blew fire. I hope Guillaume wasn't burnt....Sincerely, Futch

Trivia
Edit
- Bright is the only character in Suikoden III to not have any fixed skill slots.
- Bright has the lowest number of overall available skill slots for playable characters in Suikoden III.
- In the manga adaptation of Suikoden III, Bright was made much larger so that he could carry Geddoe's entire team as well as Futch and Sharon. This makes sense since the game does not show a transition screen for Bright flying the party in the story (instead using a fadeout), and he is only big enough to carry two people at best.
