Charlemagne is a courteous and gallant man. He likes fancy things and like Schtolteheim Reinbach III, he is a narcissist.

Suikoden IV[]
During the Island Liberation War, he helped Helga to pay her bill. He was first met by Razro in Middleport and eventually, he joined the Island Liberation Navy. While on board on the Dauntless, he met another narcissist, Schtolteheim Reinbach III and became very fond on him. After the war, he was nominated by Reinbach's and gained noble status in Middleport.
Suikoden Tactics[]
At the Fall of Kooluk, he was on a mission to retrieve Reinbach III's Rose Crest from a group of bandits, but he had a hard time to find it. Eventually, he and Kyril's party found the bandit at the same time and together they defeated the bandit and retrieved the Rose Crest. Charlemagne along with Kyril returned the Rose Crest to Reinbach III and joined Kyril's group to destroy the Rune Cannon.
Role in the Game[]
After recruiting Helga, speak with Charlemagne at the inn in Middleport. Leave the town and then immediately return to speak with Charlemagne again. Leave the town again and then immediately return to speak with Charlemagne once more.
Charlemagne is a strong character with okay magic; he's better in strength and HP than Reinbach, while Reinbach is better magic wise.

Complete the "Dear Friend..." guild quest [Rank D] by trading items for a Crystal Ball, and then stumbling onto a battle on the Terana Plain. Charlemagne will join you in the battle, and officially join your party when you report back to Reinbach III in Middleport.
