This set of games is played on a chessboard of 6 by 6 squares. Two players take turns moving their pieces on the board, one by one. The rules have been passed on from generation to generation in the Aethelbald family and Egbert offered to play these games with members of the Falenan Loyalist Army.
Checkers[]
This game is played with 6 pieces for each player. In checkers mode, the goal is to capture all the opponent's pieces to win. In order to do so, the player has to make his own pieces jump over his adversary's pieces, and this can only be done if the square right after the wanted piece is free. All pieces can only move diagonally, in any direction, and can jump over both friendly and opposing pieces. Of course, jumping over a friendly piece will not "capture" it. Multiple jumps are possible if the requirement of the free space between pieces is met. Moving a piece back where it was the previous turn using the same path backwards is considered an illegal move. You can jump over several pieces and end up on the same spot, but this will only be allowed if at least one opposing piece was claimed in the process. If the only possible remaining moves are illegal, or if you only have one piece left, it will be a defeat. The player who captured the most pieces from his opponent wins.
This game is available in two difficulty levels : Easy and Hard.
There is the possibility to undo the moves to correct a bad tactical choice, 5 times in the Easy mode and 3 times in the Hard one.
Entrapment[]
This game is played with 6 pieces for each player. In Entrapment mode, the goal is to place one's pieces around the opponent's in order to capture them. All pieces can move either horizontally or vertically, without any square limit, but they cannot jump over one another, be it a friendly or an opposing piece. To claim opposing pieces, you have to surround them with two or more of your pieces. More than one opposing piece at a time can be captured this way. Moving a piece back where it was the previous turn using the same path backwards is considered an illegal move. If the only possible remaining moves are illegal, or if you only have two pieces left, it will be a defeat. The player who captured the most pieces from his opponent wins.

Conqueror[]
This game is played with 12 pieces for each player. In Conqueror mode, the goal is to place one's pieces on the exact spots where the opponent's began the game. All pieces can only move one square at a time, in any direction, or jump over a friendly or opposing piece if the square behind it is free. Leapfrogging over a piece will not capture it. Multiple jumps are possible if the requirement of the free space between pieces is met. If there is no move possible ar some point of the game, the unlucky player will be forced to pass and let his opponent play until he gets an opening. Moving a piece back where it was the previous turn using the same path backwards is considered an illegal move. If the only possible remaining moves are illegal it will be a defeat. The winner is the player who manages to place first his pieces on the squares where his opponent's had his at the start of the game.

Pieces[]
It can happen that Egbert uses other pieces than his own figurine. If you win when he uses another figurine, you add it to your collection. Characters' figurines will only appear in the Checkers game once the corresponding character has been recruited in the Loyalist Army. After winning all characters' figurines available in hard game mode at any time, Egbert might use a special type of figurine which can also be won. These special figurines will come with an extra reward.
