The Chinchirorin Set
Chinchirorin is a minigame in Suikoden, Suikoden II and Suikoden IV.
Description[]
Chinchirorin is a dice game played by two players, using three regular dice and a bowl. It is usually played for gambling purposes and is popular at taverns throughout the Northern Continent.
Rules[]
A player rolls all three dice simultaneously into the bowl. If a die falls out of the bowl, it is called a 'piss' and results in an automatic loss, the player must then pay the full amount of Potch wagered.
The aim of the game is to get two dice to land on the same number. The remaining number will be that player's 'score'. This score is compared to the score of the other player and the highest scoring individual wins.
If both players end up with the same score, or fail to make any score at all, it's called a draw and neither one of them wins. The money has to be wagered anew for another game.
Special Rolls[]
If a player gets three of the same number (4, 5 or 6 those are called lucky), they will automatically win the game and will win thrice the amount of Potch originally wagered. However, if a player gets three of the same number (1, 2 or 3 those are unlucky), they will automatically lose and must pay triple the amount of Potch wagered to their opponent. These two special arrangements are both called Storm.
Moreover, rolling 4-5-6 will automatically win, granting double the amount of Potch wagered. On the contrary, rolling a 1-2-3 is an automatic loss, and the roller must pay double the wager to their opponent.
Chinchirorin Players[]
- Gaspar and Shilo played Chinchirorin for a living and had formed a fierce rivalry over the game with each other. This rivalry led them to travel great distances with the sole objective to beat the other at the game.
- Gunter, an Island Nations citizen, enjoyed Chinchirorin, which he named Triple Toss, and offered another kind of dice game as well, called Down to One.
- Tai Ho was a very lazy man and is told to have won 1,000,000 potch in a match against Gaspar.

- Chinchirorin minigames are a good way to get a lot of money in no time especially in Suikoden and Suikoden II. Make sure you save your file before playing, and reload it if it doesn't went like expected.
- This game actually exists, but became known outside Japan only thanks to the Suikoden series.
