Elven Remedy
The Elven Remedy is a key item in Suikoden IV.
Description[]
An elven elixir which supposedly granted those who drank it immortality. This brew was created by the elves of Na-Nal and the Chief of Na-Nal happened upon this information.
Story[]
Following the Na-Nal alliance with the Kooluk Empire, members of the Island Liberation Navy landed on the island, where they were subsequently detained after battling a number of Kooluk soldiers. In exchange for their freedom, the group agreed to purloin the remedy, which the Na-Nal Chief intended to offer to Kooluk.
However, the remedy turned out to be a ploy by the Ancient Elf to punish the humans for making treaties in the name of the entire island. Actually containing poison, the remedy was given to the Kooluk officers injured by the Liberation Navy members, who promptly fell ill and died.
Enraged and feeling betrayed, the Kooluk soldiers began a slaughter of Na-Nal citizens before being repulsed. Following the incident, Na-Nal agreed to fight on the side of the Island Liberation Navy, believing the incident to be a show of Kooluk's true colours which would have happened sooner or later.
