Estrise is a location in Suikoden V.
Overview[]
A port town on the eastern side of Falena by the Strait of Scardi, Estrise is of great importance for international trade, especially between Falena and the Island Nations Federation.
Like many towns in the Barows territories, it is very wealthy; boosted by its trade with the eastern countries as well as its own tourism due to its notable features, such as the windmills near its docks, invented by Babbage.
Originally, Estrise suffered from regular flooding, due to being built on low lying land, stunting the towns growth. Babbage's windmills, however, are used to somehow pump the excess water away from Estrise, thus preventing flooding under normal circumstances, allowing the area to prosper as it has.
Estrise has been invaded by New Armes many times; first, during the Falena-New Armes War of 441, where most of the city had been destroyed in a brutal fight. However, it was rebuilt quickly, but in 449, Armes invaded once more; this time, however, no damage was done to the town by the invading army.
