Feitas is a minigame in Suikoden V.
Description[]
This two-player tile game is offered by Fuyo both on Oboro's ship and in the headquarters of the Falenan Loyalist Army. By taking matching tiles, the players reduce the number of the tiles on the table and gain points. When there are no more tiles to take, the winner is the one with the more points.
The tiles[]
In each mode, there are standard, special and Rune tiles. Standard tiles feature the portraits of the recruitable characters of the game and are worth 20 points if you match two tiles. Special tiles are adorned with the portraits of Arshtat Falenas, Ferid Egan and Lymsleia Falenas and a pair of special tiles is worth 100 points. Rune tiles bear the picture of elemental runes and are worth 0 point if removed; however, they will allow "Rune Chains". Each Rune tile has an area of effect, glowing red if the tile is highlighted, varying with the type of rune, and if there are other tiles in these zones, they will be automatically removed, along with another available matching tile. The pair(s) of standard or special tiles removed through a Rune Chain is then worth 1.5 times its normal value.
The portraits on the standard tiles can be changed at will and the portrait of a character will become available after their recruitment. No change of value will ensue. Neither the special tiles nor the Rune tiles can be altered.
How to play[]
Before starting, Fuyo offers to choose from two face-down tiles. The one who picks the tile featuring the Sun Rune can go first. Then the tiles are placed randomly on the table and the first player can select two matching tiles. Two tiles can only be selected and removed if the line drawn between them makes two or less angles. They can't be removed if there is another tile on the path of that line. If a player is stuck, he can ask for help and two tiles will be highlighted. Note that the thus selected tiles will often be in Fuyo's advantage, and in intermediate and advanced levels, doing so will cost a penalty. In modes with a time limit, if a player fails to select two tiles within the set limit, two tiles will automatically be chosen, but this will also cost a penalty of 20 points. So if the tiles removed are standard, the point gain will be void.
When the table has been cleared of tiles, the player who has gained more points is the winner. There are standard item prizes for winning, and a special item prize for winning with a large difference of scores. The prizes vary with the difficulty level.
