Gadget is a robot-barrel built by Juppo to accompany Meg on her journey.
Appearance[]
Gadget has the appearance of a barrel. Its arms are constructed of iron bars, it has no hands but have pincers instead. Gadget doesn't have legs but instead has 2 wheels.

Story[]
Suikoden II[]
Gadget is the companion of Meg and accompanies her throughout the Dunan Unification War. After meeting Riou, Gadget along with Meg joined the New State Army and helped Riou to fight against the Highland Army. After the war, Gadget still allowed Meg to travel with him despite her selfishness.
Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 2[]
Meg successfully modified Gadget into a fighting machine called "Super Karakuri-Maru", then they traveled towards Crystal Valley with Millie and was later joined by Nash Latkje and Viki.
Suikoden III[]
Some time after, Meg had a daughter, Belle, to an unknown father. Later, Meg was struck by lightning and at that moment an idea came to her. The idea was on how to improve Gadget. She quickly went home and remolded Gadget and thus Gadget Z was created. Meg then left Gadget Z to her daughter Belle and continued her search for her uncle Juppo. Gadget, now known as Gadget Z, is once again a Star of Destiny along with Belle.
Role in the Game[]
After the events in Two River, find Meg and Gadget at the Muse-Greenhill Border. After some data analyzing and talking, they will join Riou.
Gadgets is a great character for the the mid-game. Most of his stats are above average to great in order to make up for the fact that he cannot equip any gear. His defense is superior to the likes of even Humphrey making him a great damage sponge for the front line. His attacks are descent but he gets outshined in the offense department once other characters get better sharpened weapons and get to hit multiple times. His unite attack with Meg has no drawback like unbalance making it for a good aoe skill. His main drawback comes from the fact that he cannot equip any item, removing any utility or variety to him, making him a one trick... barrel.
