Gadget Z is the Chisyun Star in Suikoden III.

Background
Gadget Z is the much enhanced version of Gadget.
It is a wooden robot that now travels around with Belle. One day, Belle's mother Meg was struck by lightning, and at that moment an idea came to her. The idea was on how to improve Gadget. She quickly went home and remolded Gadget and created Gadget Z. It has twice the offensive power of the original Gadget but it's also three times as vulnerable. Meg then left her to Belle and continued her search for her uncle Juppo.

Belle and Gadget Z are first met in Brass Castle, however Gadget Z isn't operating correctly. Belle tells the player that one of Gadget Z's screws fell out while they were traveling on Plain Amur. However, it turns out that the screw was eaten by a random monster. Upon defeating the monster and obtaining the screw, Gadget Z was fixed. However, this was only momentarily, as soon after it broke again even going as far as to burst into flames. Belle, who is clearly disappointed that the "hunk of junk" was broken again, asked if there was any place she could put Gadget Z until she was able to fix him, and was told about Budehuc Castle. There, she sets up shop on the ship and tries to fix Gadget Z by repeatedly smacking him.

Role in the Game
Meet Belle in Brass Castle and talk to her. Offer to help her and go to Amur Plains and fight monsters until you get a "Screw". Talk to her with the screw in your inventory. After it breaks down, offer to let her stay at Budehuc Castle and both she and Gadget Z will join.
Note: It is best to recruit Belle and Gadget Z in Thomas Chapter 2, as both are characters that can help defend Thomas' castle.
