The Genso Suikoden: Soul Eater novels are a set of three novels covering the events of Suikoden. They were written by Shinjiro Hori and illustrated by Junko Kawano and Shou Yashioka. They were released between 1999 and 2000 and published by Media Works.

- Volume One (上): released December 25, 1999. 231 pages. Chapters 0-9. Covers the events from just before the start of the game until Leknaat and Luc appear in the castle. This volume includes a map of the Scarlet Moon Empire, character profiles pages, and several illustrations.
- Volume Two (中): released March 15, 2000. 234 pages. Chapters 10-21. This volume includes a map of the Scarlet Moon Empire, character profiles pages, and several illustrations.
- Volume Three (下): released April 15, 2000. 330 pages. Chapters 22-36. This volume includes a map of the Scarlet Moon Empire, character profiles pages, several illustrations. Has an afterward by the writer. Also, a guide to the 108 stars of destiny and how to get them.
