Grenseal, known as Glenshiel in the remaster version, is the Chiki Star in Suikoden.
He also makes an appearance in Suikoden II.
Profile[]
Background[]
A former subordinate of Teo McDohl and one of the commanders of the Armored Cavalry, hailed as the Empire’s strongest force. Known for his mastery of the “Thunder Rune,” he earned the nickname “Thunderbolt General.” Calm and composed, he had a friendly rivalry with Alen, another of Teo’s subordinates, and both respected each other’s abilities.
Appearance[]
Grenseal has blonde hair. He wears a white armor and a green cape. He carries a one-handed sword as a weapon.
Personality[]
Grenseal, much like Alen are both people who will give their life for Teo; and do anything to honor Teo's requests. When Teo passed away, they didn't hesitate one moment to join the Liberation Army, following Teo wishes.
Grenseal has a bit more of an aloof persoanlity compared to the incredibally serious Alen. He speaks more casually to Tir, and has a sly grin on his face often. He and Alen both continue to loyally serve the Librartion army, even after it becomes the Toran Republc after the war, thus proving just how loyal they both were to Teo.
Story[]
Suikoden I[]
During the Toran Liberation War, when Teo was defeated and succumbed to his injuries after taking a lot of damage from the one on one duel against his son, Tir McDohl, he along with Alen, carried out Teo McDohl's dying wishes. His loyalty seemed to be more toward Teo than the Empire itself. They joined the Liberation Army and served Tir until the end of the war. After the war, he was appointed as Co-Commander of the Republican Guard.
Suikoden II[]
During the Dunan Unification War, Grenseal was present when an alliance was forged between the New State Army and the Toran Republic. He stood beside President Lepant alongside Alen as co-commanders of the Republican Guard of the Toran Republic.
Role in the Game[]
He is a good swordsman and magic user.
