Hix has brown hair and eyes and wears a blue-green bandana on his head. He also wears a blue vest, yellow shirt, a white pants and has brown shoes. His weapon of choice is a sword. In Suikoden II, Hix retains his clothing style.
Hix is a shy boy which is afraid to fight to protect his girlfriend. He eventually manages to overcome that fear.
Hix is a member of the Warrior's Village with an aversion to actual fighting. However, when his girlfriend, Tengaar, was taken by the vampire Neclord, Hix showed true courage when he fought alongside Tir McDohl and Viktor in his attempt to rescue Tengaar. After defeating Neclord and rescuing Tengaar, Hix joined the Liberation Army, partly in gratitude for their help in defeating Neclord, but also to protect Tengaar, who had joined as well.
As the shy, quiet sort, Hix is often overshadowed by the louder and more brash Tengaar. His reluctance to become a warrior has been seemingly ignored by his girlfriend. His "trial of manhood" (a requirement of the Warriors' Village to enter manhood) eventually led the duo to the Dunan region's Kobold Village, where Hix, with the help of Riou, completed the Test of the Unicorn to cure Tengaar from a deep sleep cast by the Unicorn. The ceremony was in fact a sham, though Hix didn't seem to notice and following a chance encounter with the real unicorn, Sigfried, Hix proved his courage once again and stood up to the unicorn's threats to take Tengaar away.
Following this incident, Tengaar and Hix both joined Riou's New State Army in gratitude for his help throughout the ordeal. After the fall of the Highland Kingdom, Hix continued his trial of manhood, still being pushed forward by Tengaar.
Role in the Game
Weapon Type: Sword
Weapon Range: S
Weapon Starting Level: 10
|Name||Tengaar||Tengaar +||Tengaar ++|
Killer Rune, to deal more damage. To balance his relatively average/poor stats at the point when he joins, as he must go with you through Neclord's Castle before he can be removed from your party.
Statistically, Hix is the same as the first game, with below-average stats and attributes. However, his permanently attached Exertion Rune (one of the strongest embedded runes) to his weapon makes him far more usable in this game compared to the first. This gives him a heavy boost in his attack power and makes him deadly in prolonged battles like boss encounters but will require Strength increasing gear for that to be most effective.
Weapon Type: Sword
Weapon Range: S
Weapon Starting Level: 5
Note: Hix retains his sword that he used in Suikoden.
To take full advantage of the Exertion Rune, a powerful physical rune like the Double Beat Rune or the Violence Rune is recommended.
Hix doesn't participate in War Battles.
