Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1[]
Hoi was doing its business by selling horses to people who passed by the forest path leading to Greenhill, he sold one to Nash without knowing that it was in fact a horse that he stole from Ayda. Ayda then hunted Nash down. Nash thought at first she was hunting him because he had spotted her bathing. Later, Ayda discovered that Hoi was behind the stealing of his horse, and tracked him down, apologizing to Nash when he handed back the stolen horse to her.
Suikoden II[]
In the middle of the Dunan Unification War, and after the successful victories of Riou against the Highland Army, Hoi decided to impersonate Riou in every town he went in order to make a lot of money. He even made a fake Bright Shield Rune on his hand. He did that once in Radat, but the townspeople discovered that the Bright Shield Rune of Hoi was fake, he got then beaten up but was eventually saved by Riou. To show his gratitude, he joined the New State Army and helped Riou fight against the Highland Army. After the war, he decided to retire from thievery only to realize what a terrible mistake that was.

- Hoi resembles Roy. Both makes their way of life stealing people. Both impersonate and copy the main protagonist.
