Kanakan (カナカン) is a nation not yet explored by the player in any Suikoden.
Description[]
Kanakan is a small island off the southeast coast of the Northern Continent. Kanakan lies directly southeast of the Toran Republic and northeast of the territories of the former Kooluk Empire.
Evidence suggests that Kanakan is in fact a trading nation famed mostly for its wine. This trade is conducted all over the Northern Continent as well as with the Island Nations Federation and the Falena Queendom. Master of Falcon Style fencing, Roundier Haia, lives in Kanakan and students from all over the world travel to learn under him.
Rumours say that all Kanakanians are great drinkers but according to Belcoot in the bathhouse conversations, that is not true. Kanakan has a temperate climate and is also rumored to be the home of a Sindar ruin.

- After the events of Suikoden II, Lorelai goes to Kanakan to explore the Sindar ruins there.
- In Suikoden IV, it is revealed that Elenor Silverberg loves wine from Kanakan.
- The Japanese sources list the wine as 酒 which means alcohol or sake.
- The location of Kanakan is not mentioned in any sources. However, it was shown on a map in an internal presentation used for Suikoden V.
