The Lorimar Region
The Lorimar region (ロリマー地方) is a region in Suikoden, located in the Toran Republic.
Overview[]
Lorimar is a quiet rural region better known for its legends than its industry. The Lorimar region is closely tied to Clift, the legendary holy warrior who resisted the Harmonian army invading Lorimar. Legends say that he ultimately defended the land of Lorimar from the Harmonian leader, Hikusaak, keeping the Lorimar region independent of Harmonian rule.
The Scarlet Moon Empire granted the Warrior's Village autonomy out of respect for the legendary warrior Clift and in recognition of the village's strength in producing brave fighters. During the Toran Liberation War, the area was put under the control of a magistrate, Neclord; however, Neclord was not interested in governing, merely in kidnapping women from surrounding districts to be his "brides." Neclord was defeated by the members of the Liberation Army and Warriors' Village in SY 456, and the area gradually returned to normal.
The Lorimar region belongs to the temperate zone, making it a land of mild and calm climate. With little in the way of industry, the area mainly consists of self-sufficient villages. Many of its residents have never ventured beyond their own region.
