Maha Sparna is a minor antagonist in Suikoden V.
Maha Sparna is the commander of the Armes Southern Mountain Corps. She has connections with the militant clan of Armes, the Darja Clan. Maha Sparna's Southern Mountain Corps acted alone in the invasion of the Queendom of Falena.
At the start of the Sun Rune War, she sent General Jidan Guisu to assist Salum Barows, who have a plan to create his own nation. Lucretia discovered Salum's plan and Jidan's forces ended up defeated and had to withdraw back to Armes.
When the Godwin faction promised to cede all former Barows territory to Armes, Maha Sparna took the offer and even won over a number of factions at the Grand Council of Chieftains and since then Maha Sparna started assisting the Godwins. Her corps took over Sable and she started to think that the Prince Freydajour Falenas doesn't know how to fight on several frontlines. Next her corps capture Lordlake, but Freyjadour warns and evacuates the people of Lordlake and Sable.
When Maha Sparna, her troops and Childerich attacked Ceras Lake Castle, they found the castle defenseless and empty. Later on however, Freydajour manages to successfully retake the castle with the help of the Dragon Cavalry and by flooding the castle using the sluice gate in the Ceras Lake Ruins.
The Armes forces fled quickly back to Sable but The Prince's Loyalist Army manage to followed them and reach Sable before they move all their forces out of Sable. In fear, Maha Sparna commanded Jidan Guisu to buy some time and head to the Gate to Armes. There, Maha Sparna blocked the road to stop the Loyalist Army following them, leaving Jidan Guisu to die. Maha Sparna fled back in Armes in disgrace and was subsequently beheaded.
- In major battles, Maha's unit is hard to beat.
- During the Invasion of Lordlake, Maha will remain in the back with Jidan, while the other units fight against the Freyjadour's army. If the player attempts to defeat Maha's unit, this will not be possible to get to her unit, because Jidan must be defeated first, and the main objective is to defend Lordlake at all costs.
- During the retaking of the castle, if the player attacks the Maha's unit, the player's unit will be automatically ordered to withdraw after losing about 60% of the soldiers.
- During the return to Sable, Maha is "hidden" in the town, and the player never returns to confront her.
