Nalkul is the Chitan Star in Suikoden IV.
He is also a playable character in Suikoden Tactics.

Suikoden IV[]
During the Island Liberation War, while the two of them were out, they ran into Razro and Chiepoo at the Suspension Bridge on Nay Island. After Nalkul stole the Golden Seal from Razro, the two were found hiding behind the warehouses at the Nay-Kobold Village. Champo was admiring the seal because it was shiny and became upset when he found out that Nalkul was going to sell it. Soon after, they were approached by Razro and Chiepoo, who were looking for the seal. Nalkul first acted like he hadn't seen it, but when prompted by Razro to "Give it back", Nalkul tossed it to Champo, who became suddenly surprised at this and accidentally threw it up onto the window ledge of the warehouse. Then, one of the many mice that infest the warehouse knocked the seal into the warehouse.
After Chiepoo explained were, Nalkul along with Champo apologized and offered to retrieve the seal for them on the condition that they be allowed to join the Island Liberation Navy. After successfully retrieving the seal, Champo is seen asking Nalkul if it was alright that they didn't ask anyone else to come along, to Nalkul replied that everyone else had their own lives, and that they'd be the only ones that weren't missed.
On the Dauntless, many people invited him to take a bath, but he wished people would stop asking that. After the war Champo, Nalkul and Noah all went into business together and became merchants.
Suikoden Tactics[]
At the Fall of Kooluk, while on a business trip in Merseto, he along with Champo and Noah encountered a group of bandit. Luckily, Kyril and his party happened to be in the area and came across them in time and together, the two groups wiped out the bandits. After the battle, Noah, Champo, and Nalkul decided to join Kyril on his quest to hunt down Rune Cannons. While he was with Kyril's group, he often gave food to Noah and was worried about Champo. After the battle with Kooluk ends, he, along with Champo and Noah continued to run their business.
Role in the Game[]
After naming your army and ship, return to Nay Island with Chiepoo in your group. Visit the trading shop in the Nay-Kobold Settlement and then leave the town. Upon crossing the bridge that leads to Nay Island, a scene with Nalkul and Champo will occur. Return to the Kobold Settlement and find the duo beside the locked house.
Note: Nalkul cannot be recruited after liberating Obel.

- Keen: Then, I shall pass judgement!
- Nalkul: Yeah! That's real pretty!! Heh! Does this mean I've become a better man after all this?
- Nalkul: ...!! Wh-What d'you do that for?!!!
Visit Merseto in Chapter 15 or beyond, and listen to the gossip of the "Old Man," which concerns an attack on some Nay-Kobold merchants at the port. Go to the port area, and a battle will begin. If you can defeat all their enemies, Champo, Nalkul and Noah will join you.
