New Leaf Academy (ニューリーフ学院, Nyūrīfu Gakuin) is a sub-location in Suikoden II.
Overview[]
Located in Greenhill City, New Leaf Academy is a famous school that is well known for providing an excellent education on many subjects, such as appraisal, history, rune mastery, smithing, and other subjects. Due to its prestigious reputation, students come not just from the Greenhill Principality, but also from all around Dunan and even far beyond the borders of Dunan to attend the academy.
History[]
New Leaf Academy was originally established in SY 362 as a school for the children of regional elites, under the name "Grand Leaf Academy." Its founder was Alen Wisemail. Later, in SY 373, Greenhill City gained independence from Muse, and in SY 392, the academy underwent reforms. The selection of the headmaster transitioned from being hereditary within the Wisemail family to being determined by student elections. Candidates for the position are chosen by the administrative committee. Along with these changes, the academy was renamed to its current title, "New Leaf Academy."
The academy handles a wide range of subjects such as rune studies, history, appraisal techniques, and blacksmithing skills. Its curriculum is hands on, and the academy produces many outstanding graduates every year. Students in uniforms are often seen strolling around the streets of Greenhill City for a break.
Dunan Unification War[]
During the Dunan Unification War, there were pleas for the New State Army to infiltrate the Academy after Greenhill fell to the Highland forces. Riou, Nanami, Flik, along with Pilika and the members of the Army who are under the age of 20, posed as new students, with Flik as their body guard. They were sent to infiltrate the Academy, rescue the mayor of the city Teresa Wisemail, and gather the information.

After the end of the war, Emilia served as the headmaster of New Leaf Academy.
