The Hero first met Rochel when he went with Myura and Ilia Barukai to talk to Aaron in Shuraat. They wanted to inform him of the appearance of the Telluspharma. Rochelle was there, working with him. The Hero and his party were then taken, by Ducas, to Taxis to meet the emperor Renefelius XIII. After their audience with him, they started crossing the bridge to return to Shuraat. More Telluspharma appeared under the control of a new group, the Scarlet Axe. Rochelle and Aaron appeared, announcing the group and their intentions.
The Hero and his friends met Rochel again at the Rocky Mountain Cavern where she told him that his mother Signey was a member of the Scarlet Axe before her death. Rochel would later appear several times with other members of the Scarlet Axe, including at the Pefto Ruins and Akrites Great Wall.
Before meeting at Pefto Ruins, Gijellega, who had been following the Scarlet Axe, reported that he saw a woman meeting with the Holy Aionian Empire. When the Hero and his comrades went to Mt. Pregate, on their way to the House of Wisdom, they saw Rochel passing through an area surrounded by The Beetle Grubs.
When they confronted Aaron at the House of Wisdom, Rochel appeared and revealed that she was a member of The Beetle Grubs and had infiltrated the Scarlet Axe. She had been working to create an enemy that the people could unite against. After Aaron released the Telluspharma trapped there, she sacrificed her life to destroy the building and the Telluspharma so they could not escape and harm any people. She also told the Hero the truth about his mother - she had not really been a member of the Scarlet Axe. She had gone to the meeting at Martyrion Field and suspected that Rochel was really working for Aiona. To hide the truth about herself and her mission, Rochel killed Signey.
