Game[]
In SY 309, Roget worked under Iskas during the latter's attempt to consolidate his power base in Kooluk. He successfully led an incursion into the Nest of Pirates, home of Kika's band of pirates, capturing many valuable materials relating to Rune Cannons, including ammunitions, muzzles and so on before being repelled by Kyril's group who had arrived at the island to meet Kika. Following this, he was given another task by Iskas, this time to defeat Kyril's group with the aid of a batch of Fishmen. However, fighting at El-Eal, Roget proved himself somewhat unable to exercise control over the creatures, leading to his defeat.
Later, in the Caleron Laboratory, Roget again tried to defeat Kyril's group but fared little better before being defeated. Following Iskas' coup in Graska later during the year, Roget was ordered by Iskas to fight the advancing group of men being led by Kyril to the palace. Although he did what he was told, Iskas began to summon more fishmen for the approaching battle than Roget had any hope of controlling. When he expressed his fears, Iskas merely ordered him to die, leaving Roget to perish outside Graska Palace. Luckily, Kyril and the others managed to fight their way through the swarms of fishmen, rescuing Roget. Realizing that Iskas was not a man aiming to improve the lot of the Patriarchal Faction or Kooluk but merely his own power, Roget agreed to fight against Iskas alongside Kyril.
A highly skilled mage, Roget was extremely capable with the Cyclone Rune, making him a valuable ally of Kyril's. Following the defeat of Iskas, and the collapse of the Kooluk Empire, Roget lamented the foolishness of the factions involved who brought the nation to its death.
Role in the Game[]
Roget appears as an enemy in the Graska Palace battle in Chapter 18, but he can be convinced to join you if you speak to him with Kyril during the battle.
Here's another one who you'll only get any use out of by grinding in Obel at the very end of the game. And he's fine. Kind of stuck with Cyclone, whose fourth level spell Shining Wind can really save your ass in certain situations.
