The Ruined City of Martyrion (廃都マルティリオン; Haito Marutirion) is a location in Genso Suikoden: The Woven Web of a Century.
Overview[]
Twenty years before the start of the game, Martyrion was the central city for the northern region. It was a fortress town, surrounded by by strong castle walls. However, 20 years ago, many of the citizens could not escape the burning city due to those walls, and they burned to death. By chance, Ilia Barukai was in Fair Peak visiting relatives at that time, so she was saved. However her family was not so lucky.
When the Hero arrives, looking for the Scarlet Axe, the 3rd Aionian Army has taken up garrison here. The leader of the army, Dirom Rantsess believes that they are laying a trap for the Scarlet Axe, seeing as this city has a connection to the group.

Etymology[]
- The kanji used in the name for this city 廃都 can mean a capital city, or a large city, that has been destroyed. It is also the title of a book by Jia Pingwa.
