Salsabil (サルサビル; Sarusabiru) is a location in Suikoden Tierkreis.
Overview[]
A city located at the southernmost point of the Magedom of Janam. It was known as a port city with a flourishing trade with the eastern continent. In the past, it was an independent kingdom, but it was annexed by the Magedom. For about 50 years after the annexation, it was an important provincial city in the Magedom. It was ruled by a Viceroy who was descended from the Salsabil royal family.
By the time of the outbreak of the war with The Order of the One True Way, Masrur was the Viceroy of the city. His daughter, Kureyah, was the 3rd Empress Consort of the Magedom of Janam as she was one of the wives of Danash VIII. Her son was the Crown Prince Shams.
Not all of the citizens were happy to be part of the Magedom. A group, calling themselves the Salsabil Liberation Army, wanted independence from the Magedom. The group, including Misrach, were often seen as nothing more than a group of ruffians.
However, when the Janam Desert appeared, the Magedom vanished. As a result, all recollections of the annexation and the Magedom were erased from the people's memories. Therefore, for those people, the Salsabil Kingdom had continued to exist as an independent kingdom. In their new memories, Kureyah had died years earlier, leaving behind her son Shams and daughter Manaril. Masrur and his wife Furat were raising the two children, even though Manaril was not related to them by blood.
The Liberation Army did not exist, as the country had never been annexed. Instead, Misrach was the leader of the Salsabil Defense Force, a group of volunteers that wanted to protect the kingdom. Misrach later joined Sieg's group and their fight against the Order.
After the war with The Order of the One True Way, Shams assumed the throne. Under his leadership, even more development and advances were carried out.
