Story[]
Suikoden IV[]
Snowe first trained Razro in normal combat and naval battles. The two were considered to be the best of that particular batch of Gaien Knights, and were often summoned together for missions. Snowe was often given the position of captain of the ship by Commander Glen. However, he failed at it twice, lacking teamwork and the capacity to look out for his underlings - in the second attempt, he jumped ship because he apparently could not move his arm, and he feared that the ship was going to sink.
Soon, Commander Glen favoured Razro, calling him to his room whenever plans needed to be discussed. The once sentimental Snowe was soon overcome by jealousy, and it came to a point where he could not stand it anymore.
Pirate Dario's attack on Razril was the opportune moment: Commander Glen had disallowed everyone from entering the Hall of Knights, and he had just used the Rune of Punishment to ward off Dario's band of pirates. Razro ran upstairs to see if Commander Glen was alright, and Snowe followed him, but stood at a distance. The Rune consumed Commander Glen's life, but it was only at his death that Snowe finally ran to Commander Glen's direction.
The Gaien Knights found Snowe and Razro on the rooftop of the Hall of Knights, the latter being unconscious. Snowe accused Razro of killing Commander Glen. When he was asked to admit everything, once again, Snowe turned on Razro, knowing that his father would believe in him. Katarina was privy to the information, and the very next day, she had Razro banished from Razril.
Soon after Razro's departure, Snowe and his father signed a pact with the Kooluk, and sold Razril off to them, instantly gaining a position of esteem in the Kooluk forces. He also had a vis-à-vis with Graham Cray, who was searching for the Rune of Punishment and believed it to be in Razril. Snowe met him and told him about the possibility that the object he was seeking for had already moved from Razril. Razro and his friends found out about this when Katarina was washed ashore at the Nest of Pirates.
Immediately after their encounter with Katarina, Razro and his friends encountered Snowe, who was now in command of a Kooluk fleet. They battled, and Snowe lost. He immediately ordered his fleet to retreat and regroup at Razril, where the citizens shot flaming arrows and threw stones at Snowe's ship. Snowe was dumbfounded by the hostility of Razril's citizens because he believed that surrendering to the Kooluk Navy was for the best. After being captured by Razro's army, Snowe refused to join his former friend out of resentment and wounded pride and so was cast out at sea.
Some time later, Snowe and Razro met again, but this time, Snowe had left Kooluk and had turned to piracy. Not long after Razro's army liberated Razril, Snowe attacked the island in the hopes of gaining revenge on Razril's citizens for abandoning him in his time of need. Intercepted by Razro, Snowe lost. When Snowe was cast out at sea for a second time, it was revealed that Snowe only wanted to be accepted by the people around him. He felt that he was not accepted, and he envied Razro for having so many friends and affiliates.
Snowe was found some time later drifting on the sea by the crew of the Dauntless, and brought up aboard. Snowe then said that Razro was free to do what he want to him. But Razro chooses to forgive his old friend after all he had done, which deeply moved Snowe, who admits he finally understood he never had the power for leadership, but can help Razro from now on at the best he could.
After the war, Snowe returns to Razril, but chooses to live a commoner life.
Suikoden Tactics[]
Before the Island Liberation War[]
A younger Snowe and Razro travel throughout the city of Razril at night, hoping to encounter furballs with which to dispatch using Snowe's new sword. After eliminating some furballs and realizing that furballs should not be taken lightly, the duo suddenly encounter a mysterious figure in the shadows. Bewildered by what they saw, they then encounter Walter and his crew, providing much detail of their prior encounter. After recounting what they saw to the group, Walter allows the two to tag along to discover what it is that they had seen.
The group encounters more furballs, with Walter complimenting Razro on his ability with the dual blades, citing a jealous remark from Snowe. After defeating several enemies, they encounter the creature, apparently a hybrid of man and fish. Dying and at a loss for words, the group manages to come to the conclusion that something had happened at a pirate ship and that they needed to investigate it. Having had much excitement throughout their night, Snowe and Razro bid the group a farewell and a good night, as the group decides to find a place to stay the night.
At the Fall of Kooluk[]
Kyril and Razro, at Razril, heard rumors about a member of the Vingerhurt family working as a commoner now, and meet Snowe on the back streets of Razril, taking a job as a Furball hunter. After Razro and Snowe reunion, Kyril says that he has the impression that they already meet each other before in the past. While Snowe doesn't remember, Razro confirms they did so, several years before, on that very same place as children. Snowe, alongside Razro, continued helping Kyril until the end.
On a talk with Razro, Snowe once again apologised for everything he had done to him, and Razro said "It's in the past now, don't worry".
Role in the Game[]
After collecting all other 108 Stars and besting Snowe twice in Naval combat, sail to Mordo Island and talk to the man by the trade shop. Sail out west from there. When you hear Nico say he sees a person in the water, ask Snowe to join and he finally will.
Note: In order to recruit Snowe you must NEVER execute him when asked what to do with him after each naval battle.
Snowe is a competent fighter. Despite starting with a magic rune, Snowe has low affinity with most of the elemental runes and his magic stat and MP growth leave him ill-equipped to be anything more than a backup spellcaster. He's geared more towards melee combat, so his two rune slots are better used for passive physical-oriented runes. Snowe's only two standout qualities is his upgraded Unite Attack with Razro, which ranks as one of the strongest single target attacks in the game. His other good quality is that he can equip most of the strong Equipment Sets, including the powerful Hero Set.

Right Hand | Water Rune |
Left Hand | ------------------ |
Despite starting with a Water Rune, Snowe has mediocre rune affinity with water and abysmal affinity with most other elements as well. His magic stats are low, and even at high levels, his MP pool is too small to make him into a useful spellcaster. Instead, focus on building up his strong melee ability with a Fury Rune, Killer Rune, and or Double-Strike Rune.

- For Snowe's Pirate Clothing, you need to go net fishing near Iluya Island.
- For his Noble Clothes, you need to net fish near the Nest of Pirates.
- For his Armor, you need to net fish near Razril.
Note: It may take time to get Snowe's Clothes.
- Keen: You have done well by coming here. In this room, you may confess what is in your heart and accept proper judgement.
- Snowe: Huh? What did you say?
- Keen: Would you secretly inform me about anyone on board this ship who you think is causing problems?
- Snowe: I can't tell you that.
- Snowe: It seems like he's working hard. I take joy in seeing him strive towards success.
- Keen: Finally, quietly confess the things you wish to atone for, or all the things that you are thankful for.
- Snowe: I am grateful... just to be alive and here right now... That's the truth.
- Keen: Then, I shall pass judgement!
It seems you are adored by everyone quite a bit. That's all. Later.
I still dream about the days when we were trainees. Oh, the memories... I miss those days.
If you began your quest by loading a completed saved game from Suikoden IV with all 108 characters, you canvisit Obel in Chapter 12 and speak to Lino En Kuldes in the Gossip menu. He will send you to the Deserted Island, where you can recruit Razro. Afterward, you can visit Razril and talk to a boy in the gossip menu who will direct you to Snowe. Help him on his Furball patrol, and he will join you.
Snowe is decently durable, and the fastest in the game, and being the fastest in the game means he can take a lot of turns and give a lot of damage. Equip him a decent set of armor, sharpen his weapon, and now you have a good fighter on your side. Pairing him with Razro, Tal, Keneth, Jewel and/or Paula is a good idea, because they will assist him in battle.
