Combo or Cooperative Attacks are a feature in Suikoden IV similar to the unite attacks in previous games.

Combo Attacks will appear when specific groups of characters attain a predefined level of familiarity with one another on the battlefield. Once this occurs, a Combo Attack is unlocked. In these attacks the two, three, or four characters seamlessly coordinate their actions, increasing the amount of damage inflicted on the enemy or enemies.
Unlike in previous games, these attacks will need to be unlocked. To unlock a Combo Attack, you must first place the required members together in a party. They will need to fight geother for 10 battles. After unlocking the attack, you can then increase the effectiveness of the attacks by increasing their levels. To do so, you will need to have the same groups fight 20 more battles together to reach Level 2. Level 3 requires an additional 20 more battles.
The effects listed in the tables below are for level 1 attacks.
