Sword is a slashing weapon in the series, and the most common weapon for heroes in any video game, or other work of fiction. It first appears in the first Suikoden, then followed up by the other games in the series. It is the most common weapon in the entire series; In the main game, swords are automatically gained by characters, while in Suikoden Tierkreis, they can be found in treasure chests, weapon shops or given by other characters.

One-Handed Sword[]
The One-Handed Sword weapon is much lighter and much easier to use than the two-handed sword, but in strength the one-handed sword is much weaker than two-handed sword. In the series there are many characters who use the one-handed sword as a weapon, and the most used weapon in the series. However, there are very few characters that can equip two one-handed swords such as Dual Wield Users. Swords can also pair up with shields.

Two-Handed Sword[]
The Two-Handed Sword weapon is much heavier and bigger than one-handed sword but, it has higher strength and defense compare to one-handed sword. This sword can be used to smash the enemy, and can cause the enemy to become unbalanced. Unlike the one-handed sword, the two-handed sword can't be pair to shields or any sword.
