The Thunder Rune is a type of rune in the Suikoden series.

Description[edit | edit source]

It is a stronger version of the Lightning Rune, and allows the user to cast advanced lightning magic. The Thunder Rune has appeared in every main Suikoden game.

Suikoden I[edit | edit source]

When a Thunder crystal is attached to a character in Suikoden, it becomes a Thunder Rune.

  • Rainstorm: 100 damage to all enemies.
  • Raging Blow: 600 damage to 1 enemy.
  • Ball of Lightning: 1000 damage to 1 enemy.
  • Thunder God: 900 damage to all enemies.

Suikoden II[edit | edit source]

The Thunder Rune adds an extra 50% damage when embedded into a weapon.

  • Thunder Runner: 120 damage to 1 column of enemies.
  • Bolt of Wrath: 600 damage to 1 enemy.
  • Thor Shot: 1000 damage to 1 enemy.
  • Thunder Storm: 1200 damage to 1 enemy.

Suikoden III[edit | edit source]

  • Berserk Blow: 250 damage to 1 enemy.
  • Soaring Bolt: 900 damage divided among all enemies.
  • Furious Blow: 1000 damage to 1 enemy plus line of sight enemies beyond.
  • Thunder Storm: 1100 magic damage to all enemies on the field.

Suikoden IV[edit | edit source]

  • Thunder Runner: 300 damage to 1 enemy.
  • Soaring Bolt: 600 damage to 1 enemy.
  • Furious Blow: 900 damage to 1 enemy.
  • Heavenly Thunder: 1500 damage to 1 enemy.

Suikoden Tactics[edit | edit source]

  • Thunder Force: Change elemental terrain to Lightning. Changes a larger amount of the terrain then the Lightning Rune.
  • Berserk Blow: Damage a 1 enemy + changes element terrain.
  • Heavenly Thunder: Damage units standing on lightning terrain.
  • Furious Blow: Damage 1 unit + changes element terrain.

Suikoden V[edit | edit source]

  • Berserk Blow: 300 damage to 1 enemy.
  • Soaring Bolt: 900 damage divide among all enemies.
  • Furious Blow: 1000 damage to 1 column of enemies.
  • Thunder Storm: 1100 damage to all enemies.
