Trishtan is a hypochondriac man who always thinks that he is extremely unhealthy. He lives in Obel and he is the Captain of the Royal Guards.
He was first seen in the Kingdom of Obel after Razro and his army managed to recapture it, however he can be heard in one of the houses coughing and saying he's so sick that he's dying when Razro first arrived in Obel. He looked for Yu, a doctor who once worked in Obel, and was finally taken aboard Razro's ship. He wields a sword in battle, though we are just not sure how he can do it with all that constant coughing.
Oddly enough Trishtan isn't actually sick. According to doctor Yu, he is actually healthier than a normal man. The sickness is all in Trishtan's mind, but since he thinks he is sick, it has developed into that nasty cough of his. In an overheard bath conversation, the medicine Yu gives to Trishtan is very effective, but Yu mutters under his breath that it's actually nothing more than flour.
Trishtan still think that he is sick and cough a lot while talking. On a talk with Yu and Carrie, Doctor Yu tell that the medicine he gave to Trishtan is actually a flour, but Trishtan don't believe it. After the Fall of Kooluk he returned to Obel Kingdom.
Role in the GameEdit
Ironically, this "frail" hypochondriac as one of the best defense in the game, both magical and physical making him perfect to tank. This is offset by having very low damage output. This however, can be aliviated by giving him a Double Strike Rune to take advantage of his high defense. Another way, which is more efficient against large groups of enemies, a Counter Rune, forcing enemies to focus on him and having him strike them back multiple times per turn, helping both his damage output and protecting his fellow party members. This technique isn't as efficient against bosses, however.
Trishtan is especially useful if using the Reverse Adonis Attack, which is one of the strongest group attack, making it great to clear normal encounters. The downside of this party however is the lack of any good magical output, be it in the form of damage or support, unless the player character has been geared that way.

I used to be able to do more before, but ever since I became ill, my condition has never truly recovered. But I will do my best, so I look forward to working with you.
I'm on a low carb diet, but honestly, I'm getting tired of it. Do you know any good, healthy recipes?
When you return to the world map by choosing "Depart" after visiting the Obel Palace in Chapter 9, Trishtan will meet you and join your party.
