VJump Game Series Genso Suikoden (幻想水滸伝 Vジャンプブックス ゲームシリーズ プレイステーション) is the first guidebook that was released for Suikoden. It was published by Shueisha on January 29, 1996.

The guidebook features an extensive walkthrough, including sections on war battles and duels, as well as a database section that covers runes, items, armor, and more. There is also a section about the HQ and a recruitment guide (with a few characters missing). Some enemy data is also included.
The guidebook also includes a poster with Tir, Gremio, and Viktor on one side and a map of the Scarlet Moon Empire on the other.
