She also appears in Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 2.
Profile[]
Background[]
Before the Gate Rune Wars, Valeria trained in Falcon style fencing under Roundier Haia. After she perfected her training, she enlisted with the Scarlet Moon Empire, and was eventually assigned to Kwanda Rosman as a lieutenant.
Appearance[]
Valeria has brown long hair. She wears a brown armor and a red outfit and has red boots. Her weapon of choice is a sword.
Personality[]
Valeria always fights for what she believes is right.
Story[]
Suikoden I[]
Valeria appears in the Great Forest, pleading with the elves for their assistance against Kwanda Rosman and his Burning Mirror because destroying the Elf Village would also mean destroying her own home. Her efforts fail to convince the elves, however, as the party watches her get taken away.
After Tir, Kirkis, and the party try their hand at convincing the Chief of the Elf Village, they get thrown into prison as well, where they encounter a frustrated Valeria. She tells them of how she defected from Kwanda after finding out about the Burning Mirror and sought assistance from the elves, who refused to believe her. She reveals to the party that Kwanda intends to burn the entire forest, including her own home, and becomes frustrated at the stubborn nature of the elves. After Sylvina reluctantly frees Kirkis and the party, Valeria joins up with Tir to ensure that they can prevent a possible tragedy.
She escaped with Tir to seek the help of the Dwarves to stop Kwanda. With Tir, Kirkis, and company, they were able to convince the Chief of the Dwarves that Kwanda had stolen plans for their Burning Mirror, and the Dwarves promised their aid. While they found themselves too late to save the elves from Kwanda's burning mirror, later, when trying to go to Pannu Yakuta, they were surrounded and Valeria surrendered in order for the others to be safe. It turned out to be a lie, only to capture her and the others, however, the arrival of the Liberation Army rescued her, Tir, and the others. The army would then turn the tide and allowed them to invade Pannu Yakuta. With Kwanda's defeat, Valeria joined the Liberation Army.
Following the end of the Gate Rune Wars, Valeria became a Platoon Commander and a mediator with the Elves. She was appointed as one of the Six Great Generals of the newly formed Toran Republic.
Suikoden II[]
President Lepant gives Riou a choice between two generals to assist him, Valeria and Kasumi. If Riou chooses Valeria, she encounters one of her old rivals, Anita, in Banner Village. Even though the two disagree on fighting styles, they can still usually be found at the bar drinking together.
After the war, she returned to Gregminster with the volunteer soldiers she led. She was challenged by Anita to a duel, and the duel ended with a draw.
Role in the Game[]
Valeria joins automatically after the events in Pannu Yakuta.
Valeria is a strong front line fighter, with her Falcon Rune being good for consistent damage.

Valeria is one of two choices offered by Lepant, along with Kasumi, as a recruitment option in Gregminster when forging an alliance with Toran. Choosing her will grant you the following:
- Innate Cavalry ability for map battles
- Better defense for greater staying power
- Can equip Shields (Mangosh for Counter ability or a good shield with higher defense, such as a Silver Shield)
Valeria is a skilled front line fighter. Valeria is famous for being one of a few characters that are able to break the damage limit put into the game by the designers.

- She has been introduced by President Lepant as: 'Valeria, one of our Republic's Six Generals. Her skill with a sword is unrivaled."
- Her introductory statement when she was the chosen representative is: "I'm Valeria, captain of the Toran Republic's local forces. President Lepant has ordered me to assist you to the best of my ability. I hope I'll be of use."
- Valeria's rune has two different visual effects depending on how much HP she has.
- If you didn't choose Valeria. Anita's ending dialogue mentions about her going to Toran to challenge her rival. If you chose Valeria, the ending mentions their duel ended in a draw.
- According to Anita, Valeria never had a boyfriend and Valeria doesn't deny it. Despite the potential implications, she can't be used to recruit Sigfried.
- In the Suikoden II novels (volume 3), Shu sends an emissary to the Toran Republic while Riou is in the Matilda Knightdom. It is mentioned that Lepant sent Valeria to help them with their fight against the Highland Army.
