Overview[]
Dwarf Village Population: 3,200 Primary Industry: Various metals and armor crafting using them The Village of the Dwarves is a village inhabited by hardy dwarves. Located in a mountainous area of the Great Forest region, the temperatures here are relatively low. The buildings of the village feature intricately designed rounded roofs. The walls curve elegantly, and circular glass panes are embedded within them.
Skilled with their hands, the dwarves create intricate decorative crafts from precious metals mined from the mountains. The primary industry of the village is the various metals and armor crafted using these metals. Their livelihood is sustained by trading these items with elves and Kobolds, often mediated by the few humans living in the Great Forest.
Additionally, they manufacture armor from iron ore, with much of their production supplied to the Scarlet Moon Imperial Army. The renowned strength of the Imperial Army owes, in part, to the high quality of dwarf-made armor.
The dwarves are known for their master craftsmen, among whom the artisan Dowango (Solar Calendar 205–346) is particularly famous. His silverwork was so exquisite that the silver feather reliefs he crafted were said to ride the wind.
The dwarves are also inventors of various new technologies. The dwarves invented the Burning Mirror, a weapon that gathers the "warmth" present in the air and releasing it as "light," resulting in immense destructive power. It was used by General Kwanda Rosman during the Toran Liberation War to burn down the Village of the Elves. The dwarves also produced the Firewind Cannon, a cannon capable of firing at great speeds that was used to break the Burning Mirror before Kwanda Rosman could do further damage with it. The dwarves keep their technology, in the form of blueprints, locked away in the Dwarves' Vault. It is said that at the very back of the Grand Vault, in the "Heart of the Vault," lies a weapon meant to be used when the world comes to an end. However, given the dwarves' tendency to exaggerate, many doubt the validity of this legend.
