Story[]
Suikoden I[]
During the Gate Rune Wars, Vincent de Boule, a former aristocrat in the Scarlet Moon Empire, was on a journey of learning when he encountered Tir McDohl and the Liberation Army in the city of Antei. He was involved in a dispute with a local proprietor, trying to dodge paying a bill, stating that "it was the man's honor to have Vincent de Boule dine at your establishment". Apparently running short on funds at the time, it seemed as if Vincent was nothing more than a con-man merely posing as an aristocrat. However, he proved to be of aid to Tir, helping him sneak into the Dragon Knight's Den via a secret passage only he knew about, from his youth spent playing in the area.
He was later captured by general Kasim Hazil and imprisoned in Moravia Castle, along with Viktor and Warren. He was freed during the Liberation Army's rescue attempt on the castle, and proclaiming eternal gratitude, vowed to aid Tir by joining the Liberation Army. Following the fall of the Scarlet Moon Empire, Vincent returned home to Gregminster where he claimed his inheritance.
Suikoden II[]
At some point, he became close friends with fellow Scarlet Moon aristocrat, Simone Verdricci, even going so far as to give him a Rose Brooch as a sign of friendship. The two went their separate ways for a while before meeting up with each other in Radat in the middle of the Dunan Unification War. After hearing how Riou had helped Simone find his lost Rose Brooch, Vincent once again swore undying loyalty and joined the New State Army.
A surprisingly competent swordsman, Vincent proves to be a good addition to the army-- although his aristocratic nature causes him to try and avoid peasants if possible, even going so far as to bathe in the female stalls whenever possible. Following the Dunan Unification War, Vincent, along with Simone, undertook a journey to the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia in order to continue his studies.
