Wakaba is a young woman who displays a vigorous affinity for martial arts.
She is a martial arts apprentice from the Southlands. She grew up in a small village, but one day, Long Chan Chan visited her village. Wakaba fell in love with martial arts after she saw Long Chan Chan displaying his skill and immediately asked him to take her in as an apprentice. Long Chan Chan realized that she had talent and allowed her to accompany him. Since then, Wakaba has been living a life filled with training.

Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1[]
Wakaba is extremely cheerful and loves to train herself. At times, she trains until she faints from exhaustion. This happened once when she was training in the Greenhill Forest. Thankfully, Nash found her lying on the ground and helped her get closer to Tinto.
Suikoden II[]
However, she got lost and ended up at Forest Village, where she was recruited into the New State Army. Shortly after, she was reunited with her master and together they became an almost unbeatable pair in combat.
Role in the Game[]
Speak to Wakaba in the Forest Village after the events in Two River.
Wakaba is a solid frontline fighter with decent attack power and high speed, tech and luck attributes. Despite having slightly lower defensive attributes, this weakness is offset with her having extremely high hit points, allowing her to function as a viable tank.

Today Sensei and I ran all the way to the Cave of the Wind. The monster in there are pretty strong, but, they're no match for sensei.
Don't call her a tomboy unless you wanna lose some teeth!! She loves to eat, especially green salads!!! It's Wakaba!!!

- Wakaba's White Tiger Rune battle animation is based off King of Fighter's King. The move is Double Venom Strike. Her alternative move from the same rune where she demonstrates her punches and kicks. Her hurricane kick as the last blow is nearly identical to Ryu's Shinku Tatsumaki in the Street Fighter series and Hinata Wakaba's Rasen Embukyaku Burning Vigor in the Rival School series until her move change in the sequel, Project Justice.
- Like Nanami, Wakaba also shouts the same way when she was sided with Riou during Greenhill after mistaking Flik as a wandering ghost and she says "I'm glad that I've used my powerful Long Chan-Chan technique!"
