Watari is a mysterious and a silent ninja and a former member of Kage/Darkwind. He became loyal to one person within the former Highland Kingdom. After the Dark Wind stopped working under that individual, Watari left the organization, causing for his former allies to track him down. While no longer employed by the ninja organization, he still utilizes both their style of dress and combat.

Before the Second Fire Bringer War, he was doing a mercenary work, while running away from the Dark Wind. He joined the Fire Bringer for 100,000 Potch. He met Ayame, while working for the Fire Bringer and together they made an agreement. The agreement is, Ayame can not kill Watari until the war is over. Once his contract with the Fire Bringer finished, he disappeared.
