The Yellow Mercenary is playable in Suikoden Tactics.

A bow-wielding mercenary whom, along with his comrades, often seemed to cross paths with Kyril and his group during their investigations into Rune Cannons in the year 309. After being defeated six times in total by Kyril's group, the Mercenary Leader sent a letter of challenge to Kyril, via the Middleport Quest Guild, in order to prove who was the stronger group once and for all. Following yet another defeat, the Yellow Mercenary joined Kyril's group at the behest of his leader.
Presumably, following his travelling with Kyril, the Yellow Mercenary continued to work with his comrades as a sword-for-hire.

To recruit the mercenary group, you'll need to succeed at guild quests offered by Chiepoo & Co. while ignoring or failing at the quests offered by rival X & Co. You will also need to attain a Guild Rank of S and beat the Ruins of Obel at least once. If you do all this, the "A Letter of Challenge" quest will appear. If you can find and defeat the mercenaries in the Flowing Chamber after accepting it, all four will join you.
