"...Everything he says gets on my nerves. What arrogance." |
Zweig is the Chisoku Star in Suikoden V.
Profile[]
Background[]
Zweig is a scholar and very knowledgeable about the Sindar. He was an acquaintance of Lorelai and Lucretia Merces. He was interested in Killey's story about the legend of Crimson Pilgrims.
Appearance[]
Personality[]
Story[]
Game[]
During the Sun Rune War, he met Freyjadour Falenas at the ruins at Ceras Lake and assisted him inside the ruins. After exploring the ruins he joined the Loyalist Army. He also guided Freyjadour in the Deep Twilight Ruins.
On the final battle with Marscal Godwin, he concluded the Sun Rune's whereabouts. He also assisted Freyjadour in the Ashtwal Mountains and he took one of the passages with Georg Prime in his party.
After the war, it's either, he searches for the location indicated by Killey's "Crimson Pilgrims" legend, but only finds a single towering tree or makes camp in the Ashtwal Mountains ruins, researching the connection between the Sindar and Falena's origin.
Role in the Game[]
Zweig joins automatically in the Ceras Lake Ruins.
Zweig is the epitome of mediocrity, he is a jack-of-all-trades. Unfortunately for him, having characters who specialise on something is normally better than having one who wants to do it all.
He needs to be leveled though since he is an important character in the story line. Therefore, having him in a good shape is better than dragging some deadwood along. He is an ok fighter with decent magic usage and his three rune slots help to make him useful. He can't really take much hits, since his HP are only decent and his armor choices are pretty bad. But you can but him in a support mage role, giving him a Magical Rune and one or two elemental runes for damage, support spells and healing.
Zweig really isn't the best choice for anything, but since the game forces you multiple times to take him along, you better get used to having him in the party and prepare him accordingly.

Zweig gives the military unit he accompanies the Weakness ability.
- Zweig is both a scholar researching the Sindar civilization and a master of fighting with the staff. He's the one who discovered the ruins of the sluice gate.
- A few years ago, when Lord Godwin first started gathering up Sindar civilization experts, Zweig thought it was suspicious and didn't go. Lucretia heard that he'd refused and tracked him down in secret. That's how they first met.
- Somewhere in Falena, he's got a secret laboratory where he keeps all kinds of research materials. Lorelai constantly demands that he take her there, but he just keeps on playing dumb.
- Leknaat
If she appears again, summon me at once. Am I understood?
- The Oboro Detective Agency
I first met Lucretia because of her request that the Oboro Detective Agency track me down. Of course, they were just doing their job, but now, thanks to them, I have a very troublesome "friend"...
